I have sprayed Chromabase clear lots of times but I am very broke right now and need to paint my bumper and fender and some parts for my girls Accor for this HT meet coming up.

enamel base..um...no

 

Enamel is just a basic vague term for a coating that dries to a hardened finish. Acrylic enamel is less durable/flexible paint that tends to not last as long as the more advanced urethane type paint. Its cheap clear, it may look decent if applied right but don't expect it to hold up/ discolor over time.

I've used that Xtreme before but vaguely remember. That's the type you want, my preferred clear is the BASF RM DC5300 or similar 5000 series clears.

Yep, you get what you pay for. Limco would be another decent cheaper clear to look into.

I wouldn't mess around with clear coat.
