I am building a 1.8 type r motor with ; 12.5.1 pistons, egale rods, eagle knifeege crank, decked to 0, supertech valve train very agressive port work. edelbrock victor X manifold and a mean header
i am just wondering what cam i should run people say pro 2s or bloxs HSLs but im not sure i want the best power with good life for my motor dont want to rip it apart
any ideas?

id suggest, checking around this forum on builds similar to urs, thers atleast a dozen 1.8L builds here thats making very good numbers, and a few actually making alot more,

check around those builds, atleast a few of them are within the same compression as u ,

that should help you figure out what cam would best for ur set-up..

cams that get you more life out of your motor... oh good God i need 10 - 12 more beers to read this again... then it will be funny

 

m22x , skunk2 stage 2 , Pro1's , toda C's , Blox B's .. take your pick !

on a side note , if u value your midrange , u might want to try another IM like a skunk2 Pro , Blox , Performer X , ported ITR etc ..

Well, since you are running a MEAN header and aggressive portwork, and the VictorX IM, go with Toda D's, BC V's or Skunk Pro 3's.
If it was my motor I would run Toda C's or Skunk2 Pro 1's, and an intake manifold that made power below 8,500 RPM.
