Test Your Electrical Skills (Heater/Cooling Fan)
Background:
I have an interesting new little quirk on the car (go figure). I haven’t touched a thing either electrical or mechanical in weeks on the entire car. In fact the last thing I did was spray some penetrating oil in my door lock (from the outside) around Jan. 13th. Up until a couple of days ago, the car didn't do this.
Problem:
So about 2-3 days ago my heater/cooling blower motor is able to remain on and I can vary the speed with that sliding lever as though the car was running. Just above that the light will also illuminate were you select the output of the air if one is pushing in and selected i.e. directing it at your feet/your face/the windshield/etc. Obviously this isn’t a good thing since I nearly had a dead battery this morning (the car had sat for about 12 hours).
So since this is completely baffling to me being that I haven’t touched anything, I thought I would see if you’ve ever experienced this problem. Thanks again for any insight!

One of your relays is not disengaging. I'd have to look at a manual, but it could be powered by the main relay. Does the fuel pump prime when the key is turned to the runposition?

That does make sense. What I should also add is that I do have a turbo timer and a gps system that allows me to arm the alarm when walk away from the car while running. This has been like that for 3 years though without this issue occuring. So if it was relay, why now haha...could they go bad like this and starting remaining on?

Try looking for water or moist in the fuse box in the engine compartment. Some times water gets in there a makes contact with a few relays and the heater blower will stay on! It has happen to me. I found out that my battery leaked acid and made a small hole on the side of the fuse box so when i washed my motor water leaked inside. What i did was remove the battery(and replace) then onbolt the fuse box and blew air in it with a comp. After that the blower stop running! Try that out see what happens!

This is definitely a possibility. We have had some serious rains and melting ice/snow here in Ohio over the last few days. Oh and I washed my car at one of those self-serve placs on Sunday because we had a freak 57* day here. But since it's been like 10-30* lately perhaps the water is having a very hard time drying out. Now I just have to suck it up and brave the 20* weather after work and go poking around to see if this is the case.

Well I didn't work on it last night so I just rode the bike (R6) into work today....30* weather isn't too bad for riding haha.
So here's some more information about the issue. I realized yesterday after work when I got home that it isn't just the climate controls still having power. I have a FAL radiator fan and it has the built in functionality that if it's hot enough then the fan will remain on for up to 30 seconds after the car is off. Last night I realized that the fan did the 30 second cooling cycle, but then it flipped back on like another minute later. Soooo the radiator controls are still getting power too.

UPDATE:
I'm just keeping this updated for any future people searching for a possible solution for the same problem. Here is what I did last night (started in the engine bay fuse panel):
- Removed the heater motor fuse...no change
- Removed the heater & cooling fan relays...no change
- Removed the condenser fan relay...problem solved
- Reinstalled the heater motor fuse, the heater & cooling fan relays...problem still solved
Conclusion: The condenser fan circuit is the culprit of all the problems. I just pulled out the fuse and all the problems immediately went away. So then I though, "hmmm I haven't had A/C for a couple years now so..." I'm not even going to bother hunting down the problem sine it wouldn't do anything for me anyways. It's likely in the relay though.

Ah, thank you for that....with the amount of water the car has seen recently I'll check that relay instead of just focusing on the fuse panel box.
At least it's cold here so I don't have to worry about putting that fuse back in everytime I drive. It can't really get hot enough to even need the radiator fan now.

I owe h-t a 12 pack!!! I've been baffled with the same problem for months, I just let my car sit till I had the time to check it out more. I've been working on a wire tuck, and battery relocation last spring/summer and I've been ironing out minor issues. This very same problem started up last winter, I've been pulling my hair out and now, finally found the answer!!! Thanks to everyone who posted, and google for helping me stumble on this thread! Honda-tech saved my lude lmfao!

on me fellas, you have no idea how much better I feel now!
