Default help for a friend

yeah yeah yeah, i own an f-body and im a muscle car guy but dont ignore this post just because of that. my civic owning friend needs help.

my friend has a '92 EX and he is looking to put $1,000 or around that into his car. he is looking to do exhaust and intake maybe a little more but he's not looking for dramatic HP increase. i know absolutely zip about imports but i know of a friend that got a magnaflow muffler and it sounded good, no usual ricer noise.

but im just looking for any ideas on a good NON-RICE exhaust and anything else.
intake wil probably be AEM so no suggestions on that needed. but id like to hear if anyone has any ideas on
1.) exhaust
2.) other cheap mods

I have the RS*R ExMag exhaust on my car.

It's quiet, and has a good tone. kind of expensive but if he's looking to spend a grand it's not that bad. lol

Cold air intake, a good cat back exhaust, and a good header should do. I would go with DC Sports on the exhaust parts and AEM on the cold air intake, but thats me.

I've always learned a high flow cat is good for you too.. (unless you feel like going with a test pipe.......)

definatly apexi ws2. same as above. great sound and a high flow cat will be fine. you wont see any dramatic improvement because your bud has a d-series engine. they do not gain much power from I/H/E. if thats what he wants though go ahead. i know its my next move and im going with a apexi ws2

Custom exhaust with a Magnaflow and a resonator are a good combo.
