Default Hey Guys....

UPDATE on Page 2 >click<

Not really new here, but just now getting active..

I have a 93 civic.

Mods:
-HID's
-RS*R ExMag exhaust
-Sidemarkers
-Fog Lights
-custom interior (got really bored over the summer.. lol)

I'm about to pick up a 90 integra for cheap(hopefully)... going to rebuild the motor and swap it into the civic. rebuild starts in 2 weeks if I get the car. The guy is going to let me know for sure by tomorrow.

I haven't desided if I want boost or not on the B.. I'd like about 200-230 hp by the end of the summer.. nothing too much, but a quick car. I think a rebuilt B with minor upgrades under boost and that's not too far out of reach. I know n/a that would be quite a reach for a DD. Only problem is I don't know much about aftermarket support... can someone point me in the right direction or help me out that would be awesome!!

Any comments/advice/whatever you have to offer would be great! thanks!!
-Kuchta

awesome. I'm extreamly pleased with the buy. Kinda expensive, but for how quiet it is with the tone still I love it!!

here's a clip I took the night I put it on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f42y6bCldAI

Keep in mind your ear is right next to the tail pipe if it seems loud. It's honestly barely louder then stock inside the car. You hear the engine more then you hear the exhaust. lol

i have a friend that got the back of his 2001 pontiac grand prix GTP smashed and hes parting it out. my suggestion would be to buy his 3.8L v6 with an eaton supercharger adn you dont need anything else. that'll get you 240hp, probably get you around 200hp @ the wheels. hes getting it for $1,400 im pretty sure.

or you could always throw in a crate ls1 and smoke every ricer out there

lol! I'm getting the teg for 200 bucks... if he can match that and get it to my house by next week I might take him up on the offer.

ls1's are mean... I've got a buddy who drives a low 12's Camaro as his summer DD. It's scary to watch that thing and knowing he still gets 26 mpg. lol

i was jsut saying 1400 for the motor only. he got railed by a f150 (stupid fords) and smashed the back end and totaled it. front end and engine are alright and i think his 1400 for the engine alone is too much. i bet you i could get him down to 700 for the engine by itself. youd be boosted too!

and a low 12's camaro doesnt take much..slicks, clutch, cam, and a good 60ft. they run low 13s stock but i love my f body.

lol, yeah... I'd spend 1400 on a boosted B before I'd try to swap a GM in there... lol

That's all he has done to the car too. lol. I think with the new tune he needs bigger injectors before he can really make any higher hp numbers.. lol. Either way, 12's are fast IMO

yeah i was just throwing it out there. i dont know what the hell a "boosted b" is cuz i just joined this forum to ask for a friend about modding questions. all i know is my ls6 alone would probably stomp on it. and i dont mean to sound rude but 12s are fast for you guys maybe, but its really nothing to a f body. i got my car with most of the mdos done by a 40yr old man and he said he ran a 11.00 but im nto so sure. i havent got to run down the track yet since i got my mods done to it (boltons, cam, tune) but a 12sec civic...ill give props to that for sure.

im not one of those "i hate all imports" guys cuz its all about waht you can afford or what you think is cool.

but if this boosted b is better, id prolly go for it, i was just throwing ideas out there.

lol, I know what you mean... Muscle cars will always make more power, and realistically be faster. I'm not a hater either. I have respect for all the cars.

It might not be "better" for power, but I'm sure it'd be a hell of a lot easier and more managable in a civic then swapping to a completely different lifestyle. lol. This car is still going to be a DD..

just picked up a D16 non-vtec motor and a vtec head today..

Going for full re-build starting in 2 week. I got an engines class, so pretty much anything I want to do to the motor is do-able. All I need to do is buy the parts and put it together.

thank you sir! haha

It'll take a while for the actual build, but I'm okay with that... we only have like 3 1/2 hours of lab a day to work on the motors, while learning all the important stuff in there too.

plans are to have it in and (hopefully) tuned by mid-late summer. I still wanna be able to play with it before the snow flys again. lol

You could make 230hp on a stock block B boosted. Obviously better to build but obviously more funds.

I know it would have been cable.. You can change that. What do you mean "why"? lol

My original plan for the car was to stay D, but when I heard about getting this integra for 200 bucks I wasn't going to turn down the B. lol

oh well. I've been told with the set up I want to do on the D I can make around 250-300. that's PLENTY for me.

you can make 230whp on a stock D series motor boosted...reliably for less funds of a b series
