what is the best tranny for a D16Z6?

Default what is the best tranny for a D16Z6?

im planning on building my motor with pistons and rods, so i can boost. but my tranny is about shot as well. so i was just wondering what would be a good SOHC tranny. i have a S20 tranny right now.

C'mon be nice, he's 18 and probably just getting into cars.

OP he is right though, stick with a D16Y6 tranny and stay away from USDM D15 tranys, gearing is not ideal for your engine.

LOL... I was being nice.

Stay with the D16Z6 civic 92-95 si/ex tranny. Or find a 96-00 ex civic tranny. The fork on those tranny are metal instead of aluminun like the 92-95. But basically the same the gearing.

ok thanks allot guys . and yea ive only been in to hondas for about a year and a half now. im on my second honda right now. my first was a 89 crx with a d15b7.
now i have a 94 civic ex with the d16z6.





yea i know the car needs work. i got into an accident about two weeks ago...


this is what happened to it.
