Default Advice needed on painting valve cover

I just painted my valve cover red and sanded/polished the raised lettering and Honda emblem. I used hi-temp ceramic engine paint, of course. My question is, should I now clear-coat to seal it, or is this necessary? I worked hard on this, and want to protect it...
