Well, a friend of mine put a set of hid's in his ford lighting and it burnt his housing, so I do ask this question with some experience just wondering if some who actually has them in there jdm eg housings could speak on it. I dont want to run around feeling peoples headlights.

real hids are cooler than halogens. fake HIDS, like the one's your friend has, tend to fry housings or burn out quickly.
yup... only way HID woulda melted his housings is if he put them in crooked and the bulb was touching something.. other than that.. nope
