Bell Housing Bolts
I have a 96 Honda Civic 2 door hatchback. I recently blew out my clutch and needed it replaced. I was quoted $900 for this job. I was called this morning and told that the bell housing bolts broke when then garage was trying to remove them. Their excuse was that the bolts were steel and were in an aluminum motor so long that they seized and the heads broke because the bolts were stuck. I am guessing that they just used an air hammer wrench and over torqued the bolts. They have to drill out the bolts and tap the holes. They want me to pay for their time to fix this. Is this normal or should i refuse to pay for their mistake? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
