Default B-Series motor building

So I have a motor on the floor at the moment. I have all the parts needed to build, however, I have to take it to a local shop here in Orlando for bore, hone and sleeving. The shop asked me if I would like to have a deck plate installed. I know deck plates increase cylinder volume and decrease redline, however with a lower compression and the turbo I will be placing on the motor when I'm done, I think it would be worth it. Since I will be building the motor, the shop has to tell me the specs that I should build it to, right?

My question was, are there any other disadvantages/reliability issues with deck plating? The block will have darton sleeves, CP pistons, Eagle Rods and an Eagle polished knife-edged crank. Money isn't a problem for me, I have a lot to spend in this case.

The block will be able to push a lot of horse in return to the increased volume. Does the block plate also add better low-end torque and remove some high end HP? Should I add higher compression pistons to balance the lower compression the block plate adds?

Since money is no object, go here and get it done right. Completely right. You can't go wrong

So, do you think it's worth the money in the long or short run? Would it help my boosted application? I told the shop "make it bulletproof" and that's what they suggested - but I want to know if they're feeding my money to useless things.

What do you mean by "warp"?

Sorry, deleted my first response on accident. On domestic V8's when you torque down the head, it creates stresses on the cylinder walls which can make the cylinder out of round a tiny tiny bit.. If you have a deck plate put on while the cylinders are being honed, those stresses don't appear because the block was honed while the "head was on". Honda's (most) have an open top block and floating cylinders, so when you torque down the bolts, they aren't attached to the cylinder walls the same way a V8 is.

So for a B18, boring .60 over and sleeving, should I see any problems when I throw on a turbo with this deck plating? I see what you mean by warping, by the way. Just trying to assess the cost and spend the left over money on the head.

I would get lower comp pistons, unless you plan on making in excess of 500 hp. Spacer plates are really for ***** out kind of builds.
