ok so i have 2 eg hatches...a red one and a black one. i just bought one so i can drive it while i fix the red one (died one night and wouldnt start back up). each hatch has its problems.

the red hatch looks pretty straight but needs a new paint job. no rust but faded red paint. it just got swapped and has had all kinds of problems since then. it has overheated, i think i got it fixed but idk if its completely fixed or not. i have changed just about every coolant hose on the motor. also it misses like crazy...someone said i probably have a bent valve. where it is a cx chassis it had a 1 wire o2 sensor and i swapped a d16z6 into it and it needs a 4 wire o2 sensor...so i bought a subharness from rywire.com and it still needs to be fixed completely so i will stop getting 15-20 mpg. so it has some issues with the engine.

on the other hand...the black one runs great...vtec kicks hard, i get 30-35 mpg, doesnt miss hardly at all, and has an si tranny (the red hatch still has cx tranny), good clutch, and just overall runs like a champ. the problem with the black one is that the body is fu*ked. a kid ran it into a fence and the whole right side has stratches and dents in it, along with a big *** dent and rust hole in the right rear quarter panel. the other day the hood got backed over top of so my hood is screwed. also, the fenders do not match the rest of the body. so overall, the black one has a rough *** body that is gonna cost a shitload of money to fix and repaint. also...the interior needs some tlc. it is missing alot of pieces and needs just random pieces around the interior/exterior of the hatch (the red one has all the pieces and is in great shape except for the motor problems).

so....after all this, here is my question. what should i do with them...should i keep the red one and fix the engine, keep the black one and fix the body, or mix and match parts to have one really nice hatch? also a guy said he would trade me 1) an 88 crx that runs 2) a d16y8 motor that needs rings 3) a nice looking turbo from 1st gen talon for just the d16z6 motor that is in the red hatch. lol so i can get another car from this deal and have another motor. so idk what to do about this one either!! im just so confused on what to do and i have heard alot of different things on what to do with them...i just dont know who to listen to!! please help me figure this out and give me your opinions on what you would do. thanks.

That's a good idea, but that would leave him car-less for a while. OP maybe you can do it that way and just have your GF cart you around 'til the swap is done.

thats kinda what i was gonna plan on doing...but what should i do with the black shell?? they both have a d16z6 so it wouldnt be hard...but i would have to swap the harness out too. mine doesnt have the si harness...just a cx harness with a subharness. i could put the motor from the black one into the red one and trade the motor from the red one for a crx and a d16y8 and a 14b turbo i think. so i will have a clean eg hatch and an hf crx that runs. so i will be set except for owning a black shell...which i could sell i guess. lol

lol if i sell the black shell...im payin the black one off. i can use income tax money to paint the red one i guess. the red one doesnt look bad except for a bright red fender and fairly faded red car. lol

Do the mentioned swap and part out the black shell. Maybe you might even make some $.

 

now im thinking of putting the d15b8 that came out of the red one into the black one and selling it as a running car...just a very slow, economical vehichle. lol but i think i would make more money that way. but im most likely gonna take the d16z6 out of the black one and put it and the si tranny into the red one.
