Suddenly my car is acting up.

Sometimes the car will start bogging down violently like the fuel cuts out all the time. When this happens, the rpm moves erratically.

At first the VSS arm was snapped, i replaced it and it still does the same thing.
I disconnected the wire from the distributor to the harness plug to see if that is shorting out. still same choking, but now rmp isn't moving cause i disconnected it.

I have a new clutch but that was working fine for like 3000 miles, so i doubt clutch, although may be a possibility. *i don't want to take off tranny again *

There are some loose wires near the ecu, i will check all fuses to make sure they are ok and clean up wires.

Now when this isn't happening, the car runs fine for anywhere from 10 ft to 5 miles, so i am hoping that means the engine is fine.

This is for a 2000 JDM ITR in a 94 RS integra.

I checked and the rotor is on tight and not loose in the distributor and wires are tight.


any suggestions?

thnx, gonna change the ignitor since i don't have the tools to check it. I'll keep ya informed.

 

Also check the ECU ground.

I had the same symptoms for awhile until the car finally died and woldn't run.

 

replaced dist, still doing it. redid all the wires, same thing. Will check ecu ground next.

will a poorly surfaced flywheel do this too?
