buying a salvaged SI
There's an 07 civic SI on ebay for $14,000. It's salvaged and has about 6000 miles on it. The guy on there says he has a business that sells salvaged cars and ensures that all the parts (which on this car is the front bumper, driver side fender and airbag) are replaced with OEM parts.
Think it would be a good deal?

frames are never 100%. Some salvaged cars will always have odd problems because not everything lines up right. My Brother had a slavage mustang that was great. By Dad had a Caddy that was in an accident, but not offically salvaged that always had little suspension issues and imho there was a tranny issue.
if the price is 14k then you might as well get a used clean title si for a couple grand more. once you buy a salvaged car, the resale is incredibly lower + insurance will be harder to get. if you didn't repair the car yourself, you will never know how well of a job they did and might lead to more problems down the road. salvaged = no warranty.

Hell no. 14k for a car that might potentially be nothing but problems later on? You can easily pick up a used SI for 16-17k without any major accidents. Worth it in the end

Yeah if it was 10k or less you might have a decent deal (because its at least worth that in parts) but 14k for a no warranty car that you dont really know how bad it was? no... pass on it.

Used ones go for around 19-20k, before taxes.. at least they do here in cali.

Hrm.. I got mine brand new with 13 miles on the odo for 20,200. I think you'd be a fool to spend 19-20k on a used SI. You know its been beaten up quite a bit. When I was looking at SI's, my dealership had an 06 habi coupe with about 25k on the odo, they wanted $19,800. I got them down to $16,800 (practically no haggling to get them down) and then decided habi isn't my color, nor is a coupe my thing.
