Hello I have a 2000 civic ex with a d16y8 engine. Im looking to get a replacement and have been unsucessfull in finding engines of my year. What are the diffrences with the 97-98 engines vs the 99-00 engines. If I stripped it down to a long block and used my current accessories would it work.

 

97-98 and 99-00 of what type of engine? for d series engine. they are the same. just the ecu harness is a bit off. one is obd2a and the other one is obd2b. google it and u will find some pic

So just need to verify the distributors will match up as well as the front cover.
