i have a 1991 civic hatch. i dont know the engine but im getting a code 16 and at start up it doesnt want to run and it smells like alot of gas and about a minute of running like its miss firing it goes to normal and it only happens at start up

 

check your injector try cleaning them and put them back, or one should be bad. and also check to see if they are plugged in good. Mine did the same thing minutes ago and i just fixed it.

its not the engine with 4 injectors i dont even see an injector. it looks like a carburator but it says pgm-fi on it still, im confused and if it does have injectors where would they be located?

 

sorry i just looked up a d15 engine and it looks the same as mine if it makes a difference

could it be a main relay going out? when i start the engine it runs rough and it sounds like a subaru engine if that helps with the sound, but about 1 or 2 minutes later it smooths out and runs normal untill i turn it off and start it back up. and im trying to save money by using the computer instead of buying a manual

 

you have the DPFI check the plugs that are green. clean them or disconnect one and turn the engine on and see if it gets better.
