Default USDM bumper support on JDM bumper (88 hatch)

I was wondering if someone has used/hacked up a USDM bumper support,
for use with a JDM front bumper...?

my searches wielded nothing...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

No need to hack up an 88-89 USDM bumper support to fit an 88-89 JDM bumper cover since they are the same thing essentially. I couldn't verify for you that they are in fact the same bumper covers, but I have a JDM bumper on my car using a USDM bumper support. What you need to be sure of is that you use the 88-89 USDM bumper support and not the 90-91 bumper support as they are different.

The covers are different, although negligibly.

I think he may be talking about the face lifted hatch bumper though, 'ef9 front' bumper.

Good point, OP can you clarify which bumper you are talking about?

Correct, I thought you were talking specifically about the JDM bumper without the wrap around bumper lenses (the one that looks like your stock bumper basically). I haven't seen it done myself with a USDM bumper support but the JDM bumper is shaped differently where the bumper support would attach.

Check the back of the bumper cover, most people don't realise that it actually comes with the support, because the 'jdm' (and every other country) support is so thin. If it does come with it, just remove the support you have at the moment, and bolt the cover on.
