Motor is a JDM B16A. no clue what the mileage is.

This was after a chemical cleaning at a shop. any input as to how these numbers fair would be appreciated. internals are completely stock.

it is kind of low to me, when i did compression on my jdm sir2 b16a engine (10.4:1 compression ratio).
i got 242~248 all across.

* 8:1-8.5:1 compression: 150-170 psi per cylinder
* 8.5:1~9.5:1 compression: 170-210 psi per cylinder
* 9.5:1~11:1 compression: 210-275 psi per cylinder
* 11:1+ compression: 250+ per cylinder

 

I had a few civics that had 210psi, one, i think was a 1990 dx, and the other was a 1993 vtec, that had 210, is 180psi on my 1998 lx good! My car seems weak and according to that chart above, my 9.4:1 should have 170-210... so is 180 the low end of the spectrum! I know it only has 106hp but its a squeeker.

 

Im assuming thats a dry compression test? Do a wet (pour some oil into each cylinder) and see if the numbers change. At the end adjust your valves, by doing this there should be some change in the compression, if not theres something wrong with the valves, cylinder rings, or the sleeves.

 

I already checked the valve adjustment, if my rings are bad, all my cylinders have within a couple psi of each other 180psi... i am wondering if my timing belt may have stretched, it says "honda" is this possible, if the belt is off some, it will effect all cylinders evenly.. i have a new on i am gonna put as soon as the weather permits.
