Default crx with 15x8 will they clear traction bar? opinions

hi guys,

I'm planning to go for 15x8 on my EF crx. What is the most offset i can run without scrapping the traction bar? (i've yet to purchase the traction bar, so input on traction bar is also greatly appreciated) I want to run as much offset as possible so the wheels will not stick out too much but i'm worried about the inside clearance since i'm running an aftermarket traction bar.

what are good 15x8 wheel choices? Hopefully a make that is still in production and i can buy off the shelf. I'm still on 4x100pcd and i'm willing to change to 5lug if necessary.

Thank you!

you wont hit the traction bar with 15x8s
5 lug=ghey

now, for fitting them in the rear. what rear trailing arms are you using? becayse it matters da vs crx si. crx si ones will take to a wide wheel with high offset alittle better, but its gonna be tough to fit w/o modification out back.
my 225s on 38s rub because the da rta pushes the wheels out more. had i used crx si i'd be ok.

will 15x8 with 40 to 45offset work? Most of the 15x8 are in the 20 to 30 offset range, they stick out too much. I'm hoping to tuck them in as much as possible without clearance issues when full lock.

If i'm not wrong, only Volk te37 does them in 15x8 at 40offset? Are there cheaper alternatives?

Check out this new 15x8 wheel from rota. They look even better in person.

I just bought some for my CRX Si, but haven't installed them yet.
I will try to post some pics before the weekend.
I don't believe the traction bars interfere any more than the stock front radius rods.

Lo-Buck Posted the link to the 949Racing wheels. The 36mm offset fits fine with 225/45-15 Nitto NT-01's all around on a DA lowered about 1.5" (no rubbing at all in any case while on track). I test fitted just the wheels on my '90 DX civic sedan (totally stock in every way) with plenty of clearance (of course when lowered there will be a little less, but anything around 2" shouldn't cause any issues):

Integra:

At 12.8lbs and $150 they are a great deal!

Hi keith,

Can you weigh the wheels? I think they are the same design as the AE86 ones from rota. I've their 13x8 wheels and its quite heavy.

Will they clear prelude 11inch calipers?

the lowest offset i found was +35 in a 15x8 4x100 rota wich is realy gonna stick out

13 x 8.0 +4 4h x 100
13 x 8.0 +4 4h x 101.65
13 x 8.0 +4 4h x 110
13 x 8.0 +4 4h x 114.3
13 x 8.0 +40 4h x 100
15 x 7.0 +25/+30/+35/+40 4h x 100
15 x 7.0 +12/+20/+25/+30 4h x 114.3
15 x 7.0 +35 5h x 100
15 x 8.0 +25/+35 4h x 100
15 x 8.0 +12 4h x 114.3
16 x 7.0 +35 4h x 100

The rota's are kinda heavy by comparison to the 949's and RPF01's - mine are 14lbs for 15x7 with 30offset.

I run 195/50/15 and had to roll the rear fender.

The 15x8, Rota wheels weigh 15.6 lbs. The ones I have are plus 35mm offset and they fit my CRX fine with 225x45 Hoosier tires. It looks to me like a plus 40mm offset would just barely fit as well. My car is a track only car and I am running three degrees of negative camber front and rear. I would think that a car with less camber would need the plus 40 offset for fender clearance. I hope this info helps.

At the time I got them, I really wanted them and it was the first time they were offered above 13 and 14 IIRC.

I rolled the rear and have no issues, and I really do like them.

But I'm going to pick up a set of the 949Racing's in 15x8 hopefully by summer and the rota's will be moved to my daily Civic.
