Battery light always on!!!
Yea I searched it but no one seems to have the same problem.. Changed the alternatyor and checked it it's voltage and its 14.5. Put a new battery and car drives normal and everything but with the battery light on. Everything works fine just slower ( wipers..etc..) BUT it doesnt shut off on me and it always turns on with out a problem...Any input?? oh yea bone stock '91 Civic Si..and it happened in the last little snowstorm that occured here in the tristate area...could it be the salt they lay on the highways corroded some ground on the chassis??
Anyone..??? Changed alt. to a new one..New Battery and terminals...sanded the valvcover to chassis ground contacts..as well as the thermo.. housing..negative battery cable ones too..even added one more ground wire to improve current flow..After all this car drives normal jus dim lights at night and wipers are very SSLLLLOOOOOWW...Any ideas!!!

people like you are why the vast majority of EF's out there are huge piles of ****
To the original poster, check the continuity on the wire that runs from the alt to the fuse box under the hood, and report back to us
...also look for any exposed or corroded stock wiring or anything aftermarket you might have installed that could be shorting to ground.

Dim lights and slow accesories sounds like a dying alternator to me. It might be making the proper voltage, but is it putting out the right amount of amps?
At the dealership we have a tool called the ED-18 that will check your entire charging system in all conditions.

the part is not something that is usually cheap.
just go up to them and have them check it out.
they will do it for free usually.

Tippyman -- Where can I maybe get this tool?</TD></TR></TABLE>
You can get one through the Honda Tool and Equipment program.
If you have $1100 laying around, it's all yours!
