Default JDM headers vs USDM headers

I have a d15 sohc vtec and was wondering if the jdm headers were any better than usdm headers including aftermarket ones (megan etc.) I also had a problem with the o2 sensor plugs being different to that of the usdm headers. Could I switch the plugs off the usdm header and just crimp it to the jdm header? Would having the o2 sensor not hooked up to the headers cause vtec to be disabled?
