Default Exaust Help??????????????????

Have a 97 HB dx stock, I just put headers and just the high flow muffler on there now you can hear me for blocks. What can i do to lower the sound? Go back to a stock muffler? I'm low on cash so please help. Thanks!

Yup. With OEM piping, the high flow muffler won't do anything.

you can get a better flowing aftermarket exhaust, just make you get one that comes with a removable silencer

If you want high flow you can get a better OEM exhaust like the 07 Si or the RSX-S mufflers.

I have a silencer for the muffler but that is just as loud. And as far as putting a muffler from an 07 SI or RSX, I heard a stock exhaust has to be from a hatch!

the piping from an rsx or si wont fit, but you can put the muffler on your piping, or slightly larger piping assuming that the rsx and si have a bigger inlet on the muffler than your civic does.

Word. And if you were to get like 2.25 or 2.5 inch custom exhaust -- it wouldn't do a whole lot in terms of performance -- no more than +10whp gain.

Even a 10whp gain is a pretty high expectation for an exhaust.

I would agree with that! I'm very new to the Honda scene. So I can just put a 07 SI muffler on there and it will be quiet? I want a little noise but nothing you can hear for blocks! Just something when I get on it, you know? Thanks alot for the help too!
