Is an o2 sensor important or can i use a plug in order for me not to get a check engine light???

Is the o2 sensor important or can i use a plug in order for me not to get a check engine light??? I think its the one that conects to the header ???? Might be wrong

it might help if you tell us your engine/ecu combo/is it turbo or not?

That's the primary oxygen sensor. If you are turbo'd or tuned on crome, you may or may not need any oxygen sensors -- but since you're asking, I'm assuming you need it.

Yes, you need the o2 sensor to not get a C.E.L. Do you have an aftermarket header that doesn't allow for an 02 sensor to plug in or something?

well all I have is a B16. I had that engine check light for a bout 6 years. nothing is wrong with the motor or car. It just turns on with in less then 5 min of driving it or at times it turns on quicker........

so... find the problem and fix it to get the light to turn off.. That's why it's there.

Just removing the sensor won't turn it off.

You really need to go to Schucks or Kragen -- they will diagnose your obd2 ecu for C.E.L's for free!
