which d15b?
Okay, did a search but got way too many topics to find what I was looking for. Is there any way to tell whether a jdm d15b is the vtec-e version or vtec version without removing the valve cover? Also, would there be any way to tell if it was the 3-stage vtec version?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
The VTEC version will have P08 stamped on the head(the numbers after don't matter). The 3-stage VTEC will have 2 solenoids on the head, and I'm pretty sure those all came with a CVT tranny, so I'm not sure if you want that one.

Would the vtec-e version also have P08 stamped on the head? I got this info. from somewhere else:
"...and the only real way to tell a D15b e (economy) from non e is to look at the cam lobes"
and
"As for the VTEC-E Yeah... No lost motion assembly".
I may be getting a d15b in a trade, but I don't want to end up with the vtec-e version. Would the only way to really tell the difference between the 130hp vtec d15b and the d15b vtec-e be to take the valve cover off and look for the lost motion assembly?
