lighter wheels increase MPG... how much?
I'm going to start driving 50 miles to work in a few months. I have a 96 hx that gets about 40 mpg, but want to increase that.
I have a list of things to do, but the one to do with this thread is lighter wheels.
The original 11.75 lb 14x5.5" hx rims are no longer with the car and it has had 14" steelies on it for a long time.
I'm wondering how much of a difference in MPG I'd see if I bought a set of the 14" hx wheels for the car?

see if you can find the weight of the steelies, i doubt its very high. since ur not rolling on some dope 40lb 18inch rims i dont think swapping your steelies for hx's would really save you enough money on gas in order to justify you buying a set
