Default Anyone have any problems after hondata?

I installed a magnaflow exhaust and AEM SRI before getting the Hondata reflash. I installed both on the same day, after both were installed I turned the car on and there was a smell of unburned gas coming from the exhaust. It only did it for that day and once in a while when it’s cold. I felt the car had a little more power after these two were installed. A week later I got the Hondata reflash and did not see much of a difference. I still feel a little kick (VTEC) around 6000 rpm, is this normal, because I have read you don’t feel it after the reflash. At around 4000 rpm the car seems to bog a little. I have checked both the SRI and Exhaust and both appear to be installed correct. My next step is to get the car Dynoed, but until then I just wanted to see if anyone was experiencing any similar problems.

Hondata recommends the use of a cold air intake, not a short ram.

If you are full throttle, then you should feel a VTEC kick at 4.5k, even though the "kick" itself will be less noticeable than before. If you are part throttle, VTEC switches to the high cam after 5.8k.

Don't they ask you for your mods before they do the reflash or are all reflashes the same?

Why is this not mentioned on the web site? It just says "Intake"...not any specific type.

Well from what I know about the reflash you really need to have a header installed. Intake cold or short should not matter. right now I have a cold air intake, dc race header, skunk2 exhaust, and the reflash. I am planning to switch to short ram this week. Too many problems with cold air( lag and loss of power when shifting) I have also noticed a smell of richer than normal exhaust fumes. Plus two times when the car was not fully warmed up and I hit 7k rpm I had a complete loss of power and warning lights flash. Kinda made me worry, if it does it again I will be taking it back to the shop! But all in all the car is much faster than without the reflash. I would say get yourself a race header!!!

Thats the problem!!! You should not be hitting vtec or even come close to it when the car/engine is not fully warmed up

Yeah our cars have a hard enough time driving normally when there still cold. And did lights really flash when you were up in vtec range?
