is it good for my engine
is it good for my engine if i hit 60 mph on my 2nd gear with only having a short ram, cat back and 421 headers...i switch gears before redline and step on 2nd and it hits 60 mph on my 2nd and my car is a 98 ls dc4
You should be fine.. as long as your not holding the throttle up in high rpms.. it's a honda..
As long as your oil level is fine.. engine is healthy, etc.. you will be fine..
But as already posted:

I was young and aggressive on the gas pedal in one of my previous gsr's. I beat the hell out of that thing revving 8200 all the time. I just made sure my maintanance was always good to go and it made it 120,000 miles from brand new before the oil rings went bad. Yeah it should've lasted way more than that but my buddy blows up 5.0 engines about once every six months to a year driving it hard like that. I got another buddy who has went through a couple of LT1's in 2 years in his Camaro driving it hard like that. Hondas can take a beating. Theres a video on youtube of these guys trying to blow up a hatch back. It took a long time before it blew. They dumped water in the motor, drained the oil, and took the exhaust manifold off and it still made it like 30 minutes redlined doing burn outs with the e-brake pulled before it went.
2nd gear tops out at 60, i do it just about every day. no its not GOOD for your engine but it wont destroy it.
are you talking about racing? or daily? you dont want to do this for DD. but if your trying to pull its alright. keep in mind its very inefficent.
the rev limiter is in place to protect the engine from revving too high. honda made these engines to go to 6800.
