94 ls/v?
I've just recently bought a 94 ls and wanna do a ls/v swap on the motor. My current engine is in great condition, but i had some questions. I've searched the site for some of the answers but couldnt come up with any... Im new on the site so if u could point me in the right direction that would be great
I was wondering i would need to deck the block and new head when i get one and which pieces will fit together? Like what are the common setups for ls/v?
Thanks again guys

no. no one runs lsv's and no one has suggestions. There is just 283850572 threads on this subject and a master thread on building an LSV right...on top of that because of something we call rod ratio its retarded to build an lsv the right way because of cost. should have just bought a gsr.

haha sorry man but its true...frustration man it gets me...on top of that i think its retarded to do an lsv when you can just turbo and achieve more power for around the same price. but to spend all that money to just pop the hood in front of your homies and them beein like DAAAAYYYMMMMM really doesnt cut it for me and its ricer...but for some people vtec is THAT important but not important enough to just get a gsr or a civic and swap a b16 to make it faster than a gsr...but hey we all have priorities right? whatever! so do what you want. i couldnt give a ****...

HAHAHA, I totally agree. I've spent so much time helping out every single person that needed help with building an LSVTEC that it got the point where there where 3-5 posts on the FRONT page asking how to build one. Search it. Or you can just buy a head and superglue it on. LOL. kidding. But for the sake of me being me, I will do this, once more.
Here goes it:
Ls Block
GSR head (or b16 but i think they wack)-You will, I repeat WILL, have to make a oil line in the head, it is not hard, wait for the kit to come in the mail. Any good shop will do it too.
EAGLE LSVTEC KIT
Walbro 255 fuel pump ( I like it, its good, and good for future boost)
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Rods
B16 LSD Tranny (VERY GOOD FOR LSVTEC, SHORT GEARS)
2.8 Quarts of Elbow Grease (Wallmart stocks this as does any other major Elbow Grease retailer)
P72 (given its a gsr head) ECU
Good Tuner
Lets see if I can do this in one sentence: You take the engine out, take off the head, install the head, install the feed line, install the sandwich, put on a oil filter, OEM HONDA ONLY, drop it in, add oil, Install the ECU, Install the Fuel Pump, drive it, tune it, done.
I did this kinda quick so if anyone has anything to add by all means.

thats a little short of correct but if you have mechanical skills you can figure it out...

yea thats how to do it, but just not in detail. Ofcourse you need the torque specs for one, and skills for other. But, if you want to do it, you could. I must warn you though, building a reliable LSVTEC is hard, because remember you are not doing just a swap you are doing a Frankenstein motor. I strongly dont suggest this unless you have done swaps, have been around the engines, and know them inside out. Cuz one little [freak] up and its done for. Good luck, let us know how it works.
Hmmmmm, wasn't aware of all the probs that where out there with it... Im just looking for a plan to run with, money is not an issue because im taking my time to do it right and am in no hurry. thanks for your oppions and help thus far. Does anyone have anything else to add, or anything that is better than what has been proposed?
Thanks
Thanks
I found this on hondaswap.com so i get no credit for it. But this is what i plan on doing as it is a retarded set up......
LSVTEC bock WILD: (250)
Resleeve with Golden Eagle Sleeves 85 MM bore (1000)
JE 12.5/13.0 pistons (Ross also will do) (485)
CROWER connecting rods (500)
GSR head with TODA SPEC C cams, TODA cam gears, TODA springs, titanium retainers, TODA Individual throttle body / or TWM I.T.B.
($400-$600 for the head, $1900 for TODA Head package includes SPEC C cams-cam gears-valve train, $2500 for TODA Individual Throttle Body, $2000 for TWM Individual Throttle Body
Then turbo.
