Default Alarm rigged to factory stereo?

I bought my car with an aftermarket alarm system in it. Car is a 98 ex ej8-2. I pulled off the center lower panel where the 12v accy plug is, and saw 3 different factory stereo systems, including a tape deck.

For some reason my super expensive speaker setup/alpine head unit sounds like garbage, and is only mids it seems, distorts at semi decent volume.

I want to get rid of these large heavy head units but want to know if the alarm is rigged to the headunits (keyless entry).

I could care less about the keyless entry, however I dont want to F the alarm setup up, since it works quite swell.

Being a n00b at security, is there any connections I should specifically check to see if they're tapped by the alarm on the head unit harness? the wiring is a complete mess, and I dont want to disable the alarm, or set it off and be unable to silence it.

Any wires on the headunit harness that would most likely be relayed with the alarm? or would it be safe just to rip out the 3 extra POS headunits, and test the alarm out? again Im very sorry for the horribly confusing post.

Yes, the factory keyless entry is built into the radio. The factory alarm mounted in the cavity in the radio.

There is no need for three radios to be in the dash. Only the factory radio (containing the RF section) needs to be there & plugged in.

Time to step up to a real alarm system.

b18_... is right. I work at crutchfield (voted top 10 installers) you just need factory leave it behind the console.

It's not clear from your post, do you have an after market alarm? The factory keyless entry is built into the radio but that does not mean you have a factory alarm. Also if you do in fact have an aftermarket alarm you should not need the factory unit. Although depending on how it's wired you may not be able to just remove the factory stuff. If you have a separate tape deck add-on for the stock stereo that can be removed with no ill effects.
