Default Radio acting whacky!

A few months ago, I got into my car in the morning and found I had no FM reception! At this point, the car was brand new, well it's still brand new, but only had about 3k miles on it. My AM was working fine, CD, AUX, everything. But the FM was dead. I drove all the way to work, and let it sit all day. After work, I found that it was working again! And haven't had a problem since. What the hell caused that, and will it happen again??

No I live in the DC area. Plenty of signal. And even if it was a reception problem, I would hear static and fuzz and what-not. I turned the volume to max and just silence. Nothing. Like the radio was off.

Because, it happened once, and I wanted to know if anyone has ever experienced the same thing, and if there is an underlying problem I'm not aware of. In case it comes back. understand?

understand? no, i think your thread is entirely pointless. you had a problem a couple months ago with your FM and nothing ever since and your making a thread about it now. what do you want to know? if anyones ever had their FM cut out and then later on it came back on, and now hasnt happened for a series of months.GTFO

I think he wants to know if anyone had their radio cut out and found out why it did that so he could make sure everything is a-ok with his radio

Dude take it easy. Is the guy committing a crime for posting about something he wants to know about? Is he taking up space on this forum? It's tech related so he has the right to post. And if you don't like, you gtfo.

I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same thing I have, and if there is something internal causing it that I should be aware of. Yes it's happened once, but I don't think it's totally out of the question that there's a possibility it could happen again? Radios have FM and AM tuners in them. If an FM tuner goes bad, then the symptons are the same that I have described above. The reason for my question, was to see if anyone else out there has experienced the same thing, and if there was a recall on certain radios in certain years.

YOU wasted more space and peoples time by knocking my comments, then I did, with an actual concern. Sorry you're an angry person.

While I see your point about making a thread a few months after an issue has already occured.....I still think you're being a little harsh on the guy. Maybe he just forgot about it and remembered it now.

There's certainly nothing wrong with taking a PROACTIVE approach instead of a Reactive one. Which is pretty much what he's doing.

There have been some pretty retarded threads in this forum. This is NOT one of them. So take it easy on the OP......mmkay!

Here.........have a cold one on me!

I think you're the one who needs to GTFO Idiot

OP, I've never actually had this happen, since I have maybe used the radio twice since owning the car. Always use MP3 cds. I'd definitely take it to the dealership, though. They don't always have to replicate something to fix it.

Thats interesting.... i would take it to the dealer... its like what elohel said "they don't always have to replicate something to fix it." have the dealer check out the wireing / antenna... ive had electronic stuff play tricks on me in the past.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think next oil change I'll have them mess with it. Beings how it hasn't happened since the one time, no need to rush over there and lose my ride for a day or two since it's not urgent. Thanks for all the input and opinions.

No sweat. I'll take that as an apology I guess. I won't post a new thread unless I feel it's legit. If I want to shoot the sh*t, I will just hop into an already created thread and go from there. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Yesterday I was on my way to work, I own a 07 Civic Si, with the radio on and one minute the radio was working fine and the next thing all I here is static. Cd and Aux work fine, just barely hear one station through FM or AM. This is the only place I have found any mention of a freakish radio problem. I haven't had my radio for 3 days now and before I take my interior apart thought I would ask if anyone could shed some light on the problem. The only thing I can think of is the connection between the antenna and the radio has been severed somewhere, is it possible it fell out of the back of the head unit? Thanks

Is it still staticky(real word?) now? Mine fixed itself by simply turning off the car and letting it sit. I guess somethign reset somewhere and I've never had a problem since. But I didn't even have static like you're saying, I had absolutely NOTHING.
