Whole assy. you would not need a arbor press!

i have been in this same situaion many times. buy the whole hub because of your old hub is warped or out of shape it will quickly damage the new bearing. its definitly worth the extra 80 bucks. i had to get the whole front hub from honda the rears i could get from any parts store

if its the front bearing then you just need the bearing assy and have the hubs pressed out.

if its the rear bearing then you need the hub assy and you dont need them pressed out.

like i said,

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by hoo my gosh &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">if its the front bearing then you just need the bearing assy and have the hubs pressed out.

if its the rear bearing then you need the hub assy and you dont need them pressed out.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

no one else that tried to help decided it would be useful to specify whether it be the front wheel bearing or the rear wheel bearings

the rear wheel bearings are attached to the hub and CANT be pressed out, therefore, you need the whole hub assembly

the front wheel bearings are located on the hub however they can and have to be pressed out therefore you would only need the actual bearings.

so if its the front wheel bearing why are you saying he needs a whole assembly and not a press which is the exact opposite? are you retarded?

if it is like my 90 hatch the rear bearing is a assembly and bolts in. but in the front the hub is pressed into the wheel bearing which is pressed into the knuckle asembly. remember u must press out the hub first cause there is a snap ring holding the wheel bearing to the knuckle that can only come out buy pressing out the hub. i tried this at work not realizing there was a snap ring and 20tons later, sheered of the snap ring groove. also had to cut of the old bearing cause u need a really thin and long press tool to get under neath the hub and bearring.
