Default Tan to black interior swap, Need advice

Im thinking of undergoing this but not sure if my budget can handle it or not. I've been doing aot of archive searching to see what it would cost to put one together but its coming out dramtically different each time. Some sets sell for 500 but by peice im coming out much higher.

For those who have done the swap how much did you end up spending on a nice condition change over?

the list i have includes:
Cloth Seat rear and front = ~250
dash = ~100
steering wheel w/ airbag = ~100?
passenger airbag = ~ seen from 30 - 100?
carpet = ?
headliner = ?
c pillars = ?
door panels = ~50 for both
kick panels = ?
rear panels = ?
trunk panels = ?
center console = ~60 for all

These are the prices i've sorta ran across, but its kinda hard since most ppl remove the price once something is sold.

In my Civic hatch, it cost me about $850 to a complete conversion from blue. A lot of stuff I had to ship over to Hawaii because there aren't local junkyards filled with Civics and other resources aren't that great either.

i paid $200 for my black interior, w/o headliners. went to a junkyard, pulled everything out myself.. it was a bitch getting the dash out with all those clips, but it was worth it.

dont be afraid to use fabric dyes. as long as you dont halfass it it can look alright. and whats the worst that can happen? you ruin your ugly tan interior? thats like shitting on ****. noone will tell the difference.

haha i like your justification. But anyways im a picky dude when it comes to keeping certain things stock so im going to avoid painting or dyes unless i were to find some1 who did it with nice results which i havent found with pictures on the site, only stories.

Yea it does, but a new sway bar w/ sub frame inforcment a new oem type r lip and some new tires for the next track meet is also tempting But ye ai cant stand the **** either.

Nice, i want to start hitting up the Pick Your Parts but everytime i've gone there i've been dissapointed. They have only old cars and they wont tell you what they have back there unless u pay entrance.

Any1 else have experience with the parts i've listed and if those are considered normal priced / over priced/ good deals?

ahhh the thing was, i found this guy near me that was parting out his GSR and he let me take anything off his car for a flat 200. =D i was able to get a good amount of stuff. this included steering wheel and airbags.

then i got into an accident and blew both airbags. i found a guy on here selling both bags for $70.

i did the tan to black conversion and it was definately worth it. I paid $400 for an entire black gsr interior, including leather front and rear seats.

wow 325 and 400 are nice deals. If i could find a complete set for that much i would go for it. Was your buys from HT, a site like craigslist, or a junk yard?

it shouldn't run you so much if you know where to look...junkyards, craigslist etc...
def. no fabric dyes, atleast in my opinion.

yea u guys all got really good buys from the looks of it. I guess i just have to put my time in the junk yards and wait around for good deals.

So far i got a friend with the 2 front leather seats who doesnt care what i pay, so ill prob throw down a 100 bucks for them.

Also got a quote from a parts yard for a dash complete for 200. Kinda pricy but at least i know it would be in perfect condition.

then i got offered trunk panels, rear panels, headliner and c pillars all together for 100.

So damn im already about to pass what some of u guys spent and i havent even gotten started

i would say i spent around 600 for everything except headliner because it was from an RS model and i had an LS (no sunroof on RS for those still confused) i still have yet to swap out belts..just been kinda lazy but having black interior is a breath of fresh air once you get rid of tan
