The wires should not need to be extended.

Now that I found a Honda OEM block off plate at the junkyard (lucky!), I don't want to put a plate there! But what I used was a thin sheet of aluminum from Home Depot that I bent into proper shape then just fabbed up some brackets mounted to the rear flaps, out of sight.

Another option I was looking into is I pulled a bunch of DIN size stuff from the junkyard and was just going to use it (and it's clips, etc) to fab something up.

The only part that has to be "pretty" is the face.

i took the pocket that comes with the console and traced it onto abs cut out the abs and it just pressure fits in the radio hole. then you can mount what ever you want in the abs. and you can use a standard double din honda multi kit in your console opening to mount your radio in. i suggest the ai hon-k828 as it is better quality and look than metra and scoche kits for honda.

That's interesting. I managed to drill through the side brackets of my center console and screw into my deck, and it's plenty secure, but could be a little bit cleaner. JSPECSIR, you're saying that kit will fit right into the JDM console opening for EGs? That would be ideal.

As it stands, the fit is kind of tight, and I can't mount the trim ring.
