Default h22a swap tips/concerns?

So after long pondering and thinking I am going with a jdm h22a swap to replace my broken h23

I'm getting the motor from jdmtigerjapanese.com, heard quite a few good things about them I won't be getting the lsd right away. however i will about a month after i install my engine

Any tips from previous swappers?
Thanks

I will be doing this at a friends house, we will have all the tools needed.

I would go through h-motors. They are pretty credible here at H-T

Make sure that you replace all nessary parts. And be patient. I did my first swap alone, with help of boards like this one. It took me about a week to do it. But take your time and do it right. GL

My first swap too, however my friend is a licensed mechanic and works in a performance shop. Everything should come necesary with the swap, anything to look out for?

what he means is, replacing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, seals, and if your budget allows, the pullies also. Also include a full tune up and do a valve adjustment.

If you are planning to install the lsd tranny a month later after the engine swap, I would recommend holding off the swap until you have the tranny and drop them in at the same time (also replacing the clutch at the same time). Otherwise, you are wasting a lot of time and labor repeating many of the same steps. They key is to do things right the first time.

Since you're putting an h22, you should take the manual tensioner from your broken h23 and replace it on the h22.

triple confirm your wiring is correct. specifically the vtec wiring. also, definitely go w/ the jdm lsd tranny.. for 250-300 dollars more? And im assuming that would save u on shipping charges, too. oh and check the vacuum nipples/lines.. I had a nipple broken underneath the intake mani that i couldn't see or find. I had an idle surge for over a yr before i found the source. glued it shut, finally fixed idle. **** breaks, when they ship sometimes. ie tps, vacuum nipples.

Alright, I'll definitley do all those

And these also

I would prefer to do that, however this car is my dd also and asking for rides all the time is starting to annoy other people

However we have the time to do the lsd swap at a later time too I just need it to run for a little while

basically I'm turning a crap event into a good one

h2bs wont fit inside a prelude. Reason why there has never been a widely known successful one

Doesn't mean his tensioner will be bad. I highly suggest you swap your h22 tensioner with a manual tensioner from your old h23. if you dont want to reuse the old one then at least buy a new one!

Yeah, I'll definitley look into that seeing if the one from the h23 still works

my swap cost:

longblock: $1000
brand new water pump/timing belt from someone on here: $100
Plugs, oil, filter, mtf, coolant, misc things: $80
Clutch kit/flywheel resurfacing: $190
Rear main seal/oil pan gasket: $55
Manual tensioner from h23: free

So about $1425 for me...keep in mind, i bought my water pump/timing belt from someone on here so it was cheaper that going to a dealership...
