i was inspecting my front lower ball joints and the driver side ball joint needs to be replaced because it was torn in half. I looked at my passenger side ball joint and it was fine. Now my question is do i need to replace both of the lower ball joints or just the driver side which is bad?

 

I know this is an old post....but what did you end up doing? I have to do the same thing.

 

You only need to replace the one that is bad...really a ripped boot doesn't necessarily mean that the ball joint is bad, but eventually the ripped boot will lead to ball joint failure. Good luck!
