Im writing to ask this because a friend of mine is giving me an h22a1 head with the exception of broken valve...Now i figured i can take the h22a1 head Port and polish and build it so that i can have it ready for turbo and then switch out the heads and go from there. i have a 94 Prelude w/ H22a swap I/H/E, Skunk2 cam gears, and euro r cams. i wanted to find out if there is a diffrence between the 2 heads. If so please tell me what they are so that i can know what im dealing with. Thanks

 

i think the jdm h22a camshafts are a little bit more aggressive. so they put out a little bit more hp than the usdm h22a1's

 

yeah i have the euro-r cams in my h22a head at the moment...if i build the h22a1 head would those cams fall in there with lets say aftermarket titanium valve springs and retainers and after market valves? I was also going to port and polish the h22a1 head aswell...i planning to do this so that i can keep the h22a head in while the h22a1 is getting built so that way when the day comes i switch the heads out and replace the pistons with low compression pistons

I posted the same question a couple months or so ago on this forum and another, and everyone said that they were the same.
