i have a 97 civic hatch with less than 100,0xx on it stock drivetrain (d16y7) with just a header and when i started my car after work it seemed to be running fine, but it was making a strange high pitch whining noise cant really explain it. so i drove it home (less than 3 minutes). and went to start it in the morning and the same thing happened (no problems but the noise was still there). so when i got home after school i checked all the fluids and belts no problems. but when i went to start it, it would turn over and try to start but it just couldnt do it. then i pulled out my spark plugs and they were wet with gas and there wasnt any funny color to them at all just smelled like gas. i finally got it started and it had NO POWER at all i put my foot to the floor it there was nothing there it ran for mabye 8 seconds then stalled and it wouldnt start after that. so i checked my timing it was right on. i havent had any problem before this, it was running fine with no issues. and wasnt down on power at all. has anyone experienced something like this before?
