I reat ihinkmy transision just craed out.
(Sorry about the title my keyboard is wireless and was to far from the base and I didn't notice it)
Since I've owned my crx the transmission has wined. Never had any problems with it.
Last week I completed my D16Z6 swap with a few vary small problems. Used my A6 trans, lightweight flywheel, new stage 1 clutch and the a6 axles.
I went to pick up my brother and I stoped for gas and Got back in and started the car and went to put it in 1st and nothing. It wouldn't go into 1st there was no grinding. tried 2nd and same thing. tried revers and got it. I backed into a parking space and tried 1st again with no luck. tried 2nd and got it but it was not easy. 3rd, 4th and 5th are fine maybe a little harder than usual. Still had no 1st and 2nd was a fight every time. got home and checked every thing under car and shift linkage is fine. oil level is good but I still cant get it in 1st even after it has cooled down.
Its dead right?
What eles could it be?
I've dropped so much on this car in 4 months it hurts. From De-ricing it, to swapping in the Vtec motor to this my wallet hurts.

o yea and my Vtec pressure switch broke in half today. The part that screws in is still in there so its not leaking oil but Vtec wont work. But with no trans it really doesn't matter right now.
But on a better note I got my oil leak fixed. O-ring on dist was dry rotted.

The early d trannys are know for shift fork breakage and bending. May not be the actual tranny and gears.
If your not sure how to replace it, take it to a tranny specialist.

yeah, if you get a chance, the feb/march issue of honda tuning covers a cable to hydro swap in a ef. the hydro transmissions that fit in there have much stronger shift forks

when i rebuilt my si transmission i bent the shift fork by accident and you couldn't even notice it by looking but it wouldn't go into any gear when i put it back together. I had the use the one from my hf transmission. The gears in my hf transmission looked beautiful after 293,xxx miles. Syncros looked good too.

Do you think it will be alright to drive with no 1st gear? Not long road trips but like across town. All the gears feel fine now but 1st gear.
Its confirmed my trans is messed up bad. Drained the oil and it looked like there was glitter in it. Waiting to get payed to take it to a local shop to see if its fixable and how much. But I'll probley just buy another one and run it till it blows too.
