Default Avid Racing shift linkage vs. Hasport shift linkage

Im going to be doing a B-series swap in my 91 EF hatch with a YS1 cable tranny. I was wondering if people know if there is much of a difference between the two shift linkages. I know the Hasport one is adjustable and i havent heard much about the avid shift linkage, so if anybody has any info that would be a great help thanks.

Well maybe i misunderstood, ooops. Would you recommend the hasport over avid racings linkage? Have you had any problems in your swap with shifting problems and such?

The Avid linkage is not an adjustable one. Both manufacture linkages work great.

Yes sir, i pretty much had my mind set on Hasport, you get what you pay for. I was going to run the Innovative mount kit for a hydro b series tranny in an EF with a JDM GSR. Should be straight with the innovative mount kit correct or does it only work with the hasport mount kit?

Whatever's clever bud There is no way in the world, that Innovative sponsored you with a set of mounts and you've answered every single Innovative mounts question, problem or trying to promote. There is nothing wrong with what you're doing. I'm not hating, nor bashing you at all. lol... I don't think there is one single user on HT and in the world that know's more about Innovative products then you, I think you know more then the peeps that work there.

It's just so funny how you've answer every single Innovative mounts thread. I mean every single one of them! lol... Like I said there is nothing wrong with what you are doing. But good for you, bro Interms of the linkage, we already knew what we had a problem with. It's already been corrected for quite sometime now. Old news. But, thanks tips... Later.

using an un-bent Avid linkage.

If people have bent this linkage its by doing something dumb... like leaving it hooked up and removing the motor, or better yet, using it to remove the motor.

X2 for pics of these bent avid linkages.

I have gotten several avid linkages and the bushings on the universal seem like poor quality and are very loose. This makes for a very sloppy shifter. A lot of people don't really seem to know or care so it works out, but for my car its unacceptable. Never seen one bend before.

I had a hard time getting quality linkage for my own swap so I bought a brand new rod from honda and carefully cut and welded to the right length and its perfect

HCP makes(or used to) Mounts and Linkages, I've ran them for years now and I recommend them.

my own experiences,i bought a avid linkage a couple of years ago and the stabalizer bar was to long had to get it shortened,and after a while the part that hooks onto the shifter rod got alot of slop in it. it may have been corrected but i tried to call and have it fixed and nothing.
with that being said my friend also had a hasport that broke. so the decision is your but if it was me i would have a stock one cut and welded,just get the lengths from someone that has already done it. thats what im gonna do next. oem

A couple of years ago we used these bushings in the knuckle assembly that had some issues down the road. Our linkages are now outfitted with solid bushings throughout the sleeve now. So, no sloppy play at all.

Paul if you'd like, our linkages have a lifetime warranty. I can send you brand new parts to solve that issue on the older style linkages. Just PM or call direct on our toll free 1-866-507-2843. I'll make sure that gets taken care of.

To the answer this one. Sometimes when ordering online. We've heard of incedents were dealers sent the wrong bars. As an example a EG stabilizer and EF selector gets sent as a set. So one will be longer then the other. That's not due to Avid mis-haps. So it's up to the customer to call the dealer were they purchased it from and deal with the mis-shipment. But if you can show proof of purcahse from an Authorized Avid dealer, I'll be glad to send you a brand bar for you. Just PM me or call our toll free 1-866-507-2843

Good to hear, I appreciate the offer. The linkage was installed on a few customers cars and they did not complain at the time. If an issue arises its good to know that you stand behind the product witha lifetime warranty
