Exactly as title states, jdm b18c gsr, after swap was done into a 94 teg, runs like crap on O.e ECU, yet a p28 chipped with a p72 program runs alot "better"....fairly new distributor 6mths or so/ fuel filter/wires/plugs all maybe have 15k...no engine lights on...___> in morning it runs good,WHEN COLD it pulls as it should, then from there all goes to hell....When stock ecu plugged in, vtec falls on its face.....when p28, runs ok, but as same with p72 THE TIMING FEELS LIKE ITS BEING RETARDED/OR NOT EVEN ADVANCING AS IT SHOULD WHEN M DRIVING< BUUUT ITS DEAD On @ 16degrees and does advance at idle when giving gas... all i can say is HELP! ----ps. tps is @ proper voltage.

 

Bad temp sensor (one of the 3)? I know my prelude hated me when the air intake temp sensor was going out....it would be fine at start up and then go to crap later on. Im assuming if any of the "temp" sensors get a really bad reading then they move things way off on the fuel/ignition tables and the car runs like ***. Ofcourse I did get a check engine light for mine....atleast every now and again.

 

have you scanned the car for trouble codes?

 

If the p28 works alright then it might be the knock sensor. It might be messed up since p28 has knock disabled and p72 its enable and it retards your timing and makes it slower. It also can be your valve clearances. After the car heats up the clearances could get worse if they are already off causing loss of power. Can be running more rich at idle then when it goes to use the o2 sensor it might be dumbing it down a lot or flooding it with gas making it run like crap. Might need to be tuned.

 

hmmm...im using the p28 now, and has knock disabled,yet the sensor is firly new/ 6months or so, lets say even if the knock sensor didnt work, tho its disabeld, it wouldnt cause any issues...would it?--plus its a completely stockjdm gsr, with i/h/e and thats it..do i NEED to tune it even with those minimum mods?

Like I said in your other thread, a P28 ECU cannot use a knock sensor. It does no have the board for it.
