Default Preparing for Track and got some stuff in...

In preparing for the ITRexp I noticed my old Bieffe helmt was snell 95 and needed to be upgraded. I saw a super deal on the Sparco helmet and ordered it and here are some pics of the new helmet. Also picked up a used neck brace. What do you guys do with your out of date helmets? Mine is still in great condition but I can't use it anymore because of the date.

Nice helmet bag, better than the bieffe one, thicker.

The ones on sale were either white or gloss black. I decided on white as it would match my color scheme better. They are actually selling for almost half price right now. $359 delivered from UPR! More Sparco stuff is on the way. EVO seat to match my Rev, harnessess yet to be ordered and more Nomex....

Wow, that means you must have been able to get stuff for cheap. Sparco is rarely ever on sale let alone a discount...

UPR is the biggest sparco dealer in the US so i got a pretty amazing discount.

lets just say every piece of safety equipment i own is sparco except my helmet and my shoes.

their old helmets sucked, and i just like the alpinestars shoes better

Damn, I will have all sparco as well except paying through the nose at minimal discount...

You are right about the helmets. They must have changed as I tried my luck based on the price and tried it on yesterday. Definitely feels different than old sparcos but it seems to be fine for my head. I went with a slightly tighter one as my old helmet was always so loose.

Another big box came in today

Under wraps

Sparco EVO

Back of EVO, different than my old REV as now Sparco is on back as well. Whoever will be sitting in my passenger seat will be very happy!

Thanks Marc(BlueR) for getting me a super deal on this!

Can't wait to get my other stuff ordered!

did they make two versions of the spy 05? because the one you have has a smaller eyeport compared to the ones pictured on the sparco website.

Not sure, it may be due to the size of the helmet. Mine is a size L and the build date was pretty recent, I think it was Dec2007.

Hopefully I can be upgraded to drive by myself after the first session. I have been track driving for many years in Toronto and Watkins Glen. Haven't in the last 3 years since I moved to Long Island.

I sat in the EVO and it feels about the same as my Rev. It is definitely not as big as the EVO used to be but that was a while ago before they obsoleted the Rev model.

The HANS version was cheaper to buy than the non HANS version. I picked up the neck brace as it was very cheap. I never used a neck brace in the past so I wanted to see how it would feel.

IC ... understood. Have you ever been indoor karting?
Most tracks require you to wear one while on track.
Its not too bad to wear. You probably wont notice it much.

Neck braces are also worn in outdoor karting. Get suited up and see if the neck brace is comfy or not. If not comfy, you can take the foam out and trim it down to contour you build.

You can also go with a Leatt-Brace setup if you don't want a HANS device.
