burnt looking coil and distro cap
I've had to replace my coil twice in about 3 months.
I've had the car less than a year.
The first time, it looked corroded - green and flaky inside the part that conducts electricity from the coil into the node on the distro cap. The connection on the cap was corroded the same way. I figured the last owner got the distro wet while washing the engine bay. I replaced the coil and cap.
Now, a similar problem has happened, but this time it looks more like it's burt inside. Kind of like charcoal. It's on the same places in the coil and on the distro cap. I could replace them again, but I'd like to get at the real problem.
Do I need a new distro?

You probably need to replace your ignitor. You could get a dizzy for less than 200 or replace the coil and ignitor. Your call...
Use distributor king on ebay for brand new dizzy's
They are cheap with quality stuff, warranty also. I paid 200 for a b16 dizzy i think awhile back and autozone charged me almost 400 and i needed to return my core!
