ys1 tranny
ys1 is stamped on any da transmission from a 92-93. its just the shorter gear ratio is out of the gs-r's. s1 is a 90-91 and short geared is out of the jdm xsi.

Thats correct. The gear ratios and final are different in those 2 applications even though the case is the same.

for some reason. i had a white ls special.... with ys1 new clutch an everything. doesnt pull hard as the one i have now. every thing i power shift it. skirt hella hard. an seems like it has lsd.... any way how to i dentify if ihave it or not?
i just bought a 91 acura integra ls an it got the ys1 tranny but it dont get second gear so when i bought the car the previous owner gave me an s1 tranny but i dont know if is gs-r or jdm how can you tell and is the s1 better than the ys1 or i just replace the ys1 for anoter ys1
