Default engine is in- car runs, but not right...please help!!!!!!

i put a 89 d16a6 into my 89 crx dx, i used a 90 intake manifold, ecu and dizzy. i did all of the wiring correctly to convert it to mpfi. i switched the tps wires, everything. i am getting one code--code 14, which is electronic air control valve. i changed it but still getting a cel. the real problem is when holding the accelerator steady the engine surges, but it only does it between 1500 and 2500 rpm! i cant figure it out, and i need to get this thing running. can anyone please help me out? the haynes manual sayes that if the engine surges it could be one of four things:

a-faulty fuel pump
b-defective ecu
c-loose wiring/connection in injector harness
d-intake air leak

I CANT FIGURE IT OUT!!!! any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks in advance.

um...all I can think of is your throttle body might be getting stuck. I know it sounds retarded but I heard of someone having the same problem. Their throttlebody wasn't opening and shutting correctly.

there is one plug that is not used when going from dpfi to mpfi try swithing the plug you have connected to the control valve with the plug that is not used...or try switch with the air tem sensor(white sensor)...its a common mistake.

if one of those sensors was wrong would it cause the engine to surge like that?

It's not the sensor its the plug...just saying that you may have got your plugs mixed up,so the idle air control valve is actually ok its just not hooked up

tried and checked---nothing! i have the green plug going to the eacv(cylindrical shaped sensor on back of intakE), and i have the white plug(green/red wires) going to the intake air sensor. thats exactly how my civic is run.

could anything else cause the engine to do this like timing or maybe a vacuum leak?

worth a shot. hmmmmm...how is your car idling?
Things I can think of at the moment would be that some dirt could be getting stuck at the throttle body and not closing/opening right. EGR valves malfunctioning are cases on other cars. Maybe the deal with your D16.

well guys after doing many, many different things i figured out that the code 14 has nothing to do with the engine surging. here is the catch though, i was just playing around and switched back the tps wires(back to dx) and fired it up, and guess what--no more surging, however after taking it for a ride it runs fine but when you give it full throttle it like dies or bogs, but only when you mash it!!!! i dont get it!!!??? anybody have any ideas on this one???

changing the TPS was only for the ZC engine since the sensor runs all the
way around.....
if it kinda bogfs when guning it.. maybe its not getting the right resistance reading,,,, make sur eu solder those cables back..... that sensor its a potentiometer basically..... so just make sure its not messing the signal..
