accordv6 in 88-91 crx??
just thinkin...is it possible to put the accord v6 in an 88-91 crx..i just thought of this when i seen a pic of a 91hatch with supra turbocharged motor in it..well let me know ..might be my swap..oh and if anyone in the southern states..near texas..have a crx body..for sale ..or just want to get rid of it let me know...thanx
In the Summer '01 issue of Honda Tuning, they had a swap guide with different motors into different bodies. On a scale of 1-4 (4 being the most difficult), that swap was a 4. But they didn't say it was impossible.
yea it is possible but it is so not worth it. u would spend thousands on custom everything. and i do mean everything. and then when that was all over u would come to the realization that there are nearly no performance parts for that motor and then u will sit on your tool box and cry. u will cry long and hard for hours and hours and hours. and then it will be time for bed.
i think the 2jz-gte in the civic was photoshopped..
the v6 engine into a civic isnt IMPOSSIBLE, whatever floats your boat, if you have the time (alot) and money (ALOT!!!) then go for it. if you pull it off, itll be pretty cool to see, but performance wise.. dont really know yet.. maybe we'll find out
good luck

yeah basicly you would have to widen the fenders and chassis by like three inches on both sides. Then you would have to lenghten the chassis by like five inches.THEN customize the mounts. THEN all the electonics...**** everythings possible just depends on how deep your pockets are.

I believe in that issue of Honda Tuning there was also a catagory called "But Why?"....I think that's what would fit that idea...if you want that much power...you're better off with a CRV-TEC or LS/VTEC...actually all in all it'd prolly perform better anyway...
You would put all that time and money into it for the same hp as a B18C5. Sure you would have more torque but you will also have no traction and your chasis would flex and twist an awful lot. If you want the torque and HP you could just build a nasty B20 or H22 and still have money and time to spend it.Later.
ive seen a nsx engine in a crx mounted in the back poweering the back wheels it was in a magazine a while back i cant remember which one though it was a red one.
One of my friends was curious one day so he went to this local place that modifies chassis for race use, and he asked them how much to make a nsx engine fit in a crx and he said around 2000. thats just to make it fit. it would definily be interesting. id rather se the money on a b18 or b16 and build it up
but if ya wanna be different thats one way to do it
