Default Axle question for B16A swap

I have a 90 CRX Si, and just purchased a complete change over first gen B16A swap from hondamotorsonline. I started reading, however on HASports website http://www.hasport.com/B16axles.htm that the axles may need to be modified. Does anyone have any experience in purchasing this motor from them and what axles or intermediate shafts do they give you. Anyway, I'd like to know before the motor gets here so I can have the appropriate axles, whichever one they may be, ready. Thanks.

Just use 90-93 Integra axles and intermediate shaft. This set-up will work as long as you don't get a Y1 tranny and intermediate shaft. In that case you will need SiR axles or you could just use the 90-93 teg set-up.

does anyone know if hondamotors gives you the y1 tranny with their swap that costs 1350, I am trying to find out from them but they haven't responded yet. It says they give the sir half shafts, but i'm not sure if they will bolt up without modification.

If the motor is coming with a SiR half-shaft, then most likely it is a Y1 tranny. So you would need to find SiR axles, put some together following the Hasport site, or get a 90-93 teg half-shaft and axles. But first, try and find out for sure what transmission is coming with the motor.

I had a Y1 tranny and all I did was replace half shaft and axles to 91 teg...bought half shaft for $75 and axles for $150. I didnt want the hassle of mix and matching axles to make SiR's...dont forget to remove dust caps.

i have a Y1 tranny with a 90 integ axle on the passenger side, 91 integ axle on the drivers side and a 90 integ centershaft.
i'm not suggesting it. I'm asking if its correct?
it seems to work right now. maybe the life of the axle/cv joint will suffer.
how can i tell if its bad?
i need to adjust the frontend alignment and do the camber on the passenger side.

I got a J1 tranny from HMO when i bought my engines. I asked Steve at HMO about the axles and he told me that he sends out SIR intermidiate shafts w/ sir axles on the first gen b16a kits.

So if he sends Sir shafts w/ Sir axles, then they should fit my car without any modification, right? Thats was my understanding when I originally bought the kit from him. Thanks for the quick responses.

Yes they "should" fit in your car without any problems. Give them a try and see what happens. Good luck.

Thanks for the luck, hopefully I won't need it too much and everything goes smoothly. Has anyone actually put in Sir axles and halfshafts on their CRX, and knows if they "will" fit, "should" fit kind of scares me.
