Another Rim/tire suggestion thread
Well I have searched, and yet im still inconclusive.
I have a 88CRX that now sports an LS/Vtec, its getting lots of parts as quickly as I can buy them, and now im wanting to change the wheel tire combo.
Right now it has a set of 14x6 rota slipstream knock off wheels, not sure who they were made by, just came across them and used them.
My plans for the car are AutoCross and Daily driving with the rims I decide upon.
SO I have been seeing alot of people prefer 15's over 16's but I like the idea of a 16x7.5in wheel.
I do plan to upgrade brakes later on, so I dont want to run into issues and have to sell wheels I have recently got.
Has anyone here ran a 16x7.5? Any rubbing issues? I do have a set of 17x7's with a set of 215's on them, and surprisingly no rubbing issues but im still stock height, it will probably come down this year via a set of Skunk 2 Pro C's for auto cross.
So whats everyones suggestion?

no experience with 16's but i've been told by a lot of people that 15's will reduce wheel hop...could be true, but not for sure. if you're doing auto-cross you probably wont the most rubber on the road you can get, so i think the 16's would be good for that.
I have some 15x7.5 Rota slipstreams that you can buy off me. I've heard or a ton of CRX guys running 225/45/15s and 225/50/15s on CRXs.
My rims have 225/45/15 Toyo RA1s on them. Good condition and not very old tires. I only used for last season. Rims are only a year old as well and have only seen 4 race days worth of use with only one set of tires ever being mounted on them
$600 OBO

If you are wanting to autoX, stay away from 16s. Once you lower the car, 15 inch wheels look like the right size, anyway. A 225/45/15 will fit underneath fenders with the fender lips rolled and a +40 or higher offset.
Tires are cheaper in 14's and 15's, as well...which is another benefit. You can get the Nitto NT01 in 225/45/15 for $137/tire. So far, for me, they have been great tires!
