Fellow R owners, check this out. TODA race parts for RSX
I wonder how the K20 will perform compared to our B18C5 with these parts???

I think it will respond better to mods, its a 2.0 liter. Its shown impressive gains from just exhaust and intake. However, i bet people are gonna find the cams hard to tune. There isn't any fuel management tools out there yet for the RSX, and the adjustable cam gears by Toda illiminate VTC or the "i" from i-VTEC.
The i-VTEC as used with the stock engine programming hurts performance. It's cheif function is to use valve overlap to recirculate exhaust gasses, like an EGR valve.
If the ECU can be reprogrammed it would be possible for the VTC to enhance performance, but doing so would require extensive remapping of every engine parameter, and that means lots of time spent experimenting/tuning.
It is far easier to just eliminate the VTC, at least for now. The elimination of the VTC also makes it much easier to develop camshafts for the engine.
As an aside, I love how all the dumbass DC5 stunnaz seem to think that everything new is better, and that the K20 is "da bomb" because "they added another letter to the acronym, yo. i-VTEC!" when in reality this new "better" needs to be removed to make power. God I hate DC5s.

I'm really curious to see how the k20 reacts to this. If it is good, then
to the RSX. Its been out for only one year and look at all these aftermarket parts made for it already. The celica doesn't even compare anymore.
I just find it funny that to make power, Toda is gonna have to disable the one thing that gives the RSX its reputation of being years and years ahead of the b series motor.
I have to say, I think the K20 is an OK engine. The ECU programming is f'ing lousy though. The throttle response is just crap, but I think most of what's wrong with that can (maybe) be fixed with ECU tuning.
Too bad there's nothing that'll fix the front suspension.
