my race suspension that will dominate the track!
aight, here's the deal... i've got an '88 civic hatchback w/ a b16 swap. and i want a suspension that's gonna dominate on the track. right now i'm lookin' at zeal function b6's, tein RE's or RA's (what's the diff?), and jic alt-f2's.
as of now i'm leanin' toward the zeal function b6's cuz ITRinEJ1 has got some killer deals. the spring rates for the function b6's are 10/6 kg/mm for street or 12/8 kg/mm for race. i'm definantly gonna get the stiffer of the two, but my question is, is 12/8 gonna be stiff enough? i don't care about ride quality, i just want a suspension that's gonna dominate on the track! let me hear all of your opinions!

HA sucks for the track...you want to go RA or above
Do they even make B6 for ef as I don't see it listed

If you want hardcore suspension I would say buy some Bilsteins or Konis have them shortened and revalved for 700lbs f 900lbs r and add some ground controls with matching rates.

yes, they make the function b6 for ef's.
btw, what does 12kg/mm front and 8kg/mm convert to in Lbs/IN.?

yea i would either do the custom bilsteins or the zeals. teins just seem to be too expensive for what they do and how much up keep. i have heard they are a real pain in the ***.

Don't go with anything more than Tein HA/Zeal B2 if the car will be driven on the street. The car will handle like crap and bounce all over the place. If it's mainly a track car, go with some Zeal Super Functions if you can afford them. If not, the B6's with circuit springs are a nice choice.
the car will be driven on the street some, but i have a jeep for my daily driver. besides, i don't have to worry about comfort on the road, i'm only 20, i'm still young!
so, i'm thinkin' the zeal b6's now w/ the circuit spring rates, right? or should i get some custom spring rates that are stiffer?

If your going to have this as a street/track car then the B6 are going to be a little bouncy but still streetable. Same thing with the RA's. But the Tein RA's and Zeal B6's are very sweet. Also with the Tein's you are able to choose your own spring rates. I'm not real familar with Zeal, but i beleive they do this also. To through in another option, you could go with the Tein N1's or maybe even some Buddy Club's.
Oh yeah,

These rates are far from hardcore...try for 16kg/mm R and 12 or 13kg/mm F
Since your going to go JDM anyway if you compare B6 and RA I would say B6 is better as it has the adjustable lower body...so you can lower you car and keep your travel. The RA's have a shortend body but nothing near what you can do with an adjustable body.
The Zeal B6 has adjustable stroke and more racier valving. The B2 is more
of a sport/street setup without stroke adjustability. The spring rates are
the same for both. There are two setups street and hard.
Street rates - F: 9K R: 6K
Hard rates - F: 11K R: 8K

one: what does 16kg/mm R and 12 or 13kg/mm F convert to in lbs.
and two: can the zeal b6's handle these spring rates without having to be revalved?
oh yea, actually three questions... that was 12 or 13kg/mm FRONT and 16kg/mm REAR, right?
