Whining noise near driver's side when accelerating?
I noticed whenever I accelerate I hear a whining noise near the driver's side. It's a really light sound, but I can't figure out what it is. It sounds like a hard drive from a computer, and only makes noise when my foot is on the gas.
This started happening after I installed some fogs on the car -- Could it be a bad ground or something? I'm hoping its not something mechanical..I've heard the noise with the stereo off, so its not my speakers.
I appreciate any help!

well the pulleys are right there so i would say one of them could be going but more likely it could be a loose belt thats not gripping the pulley when you accelerate...i have this problem and it is a "whispering" sound and i think it is my water pump
if the noise only happens when the car is moving it might actually be a bit of gear whine. if it makes the noise all the time it could probably be belt noise.
if it is gear whine there isnt much you can do, if its the belts or andy of the bearings associated with accessories then its a relatively easy fix.
