Default Anyone using EF9 knuckles? serious toe in after fitting. Shorter tie rods?

I've test fitted EF9 knuckles on the crx and there was massive toe in. The EF9 knuckles have the tie rod mounting angled more inwards towards the steering rack than the original knuckles and after maxing out on the tie rod adjustment there was still too much toe in. Does the EF9 have different steering rack or are the tie rods shorter? Is it due to the fact that ef9 have powersteering and their tie rods are shorter?

I'll try to source for the EF9 tie rods from the scrap yard.

besides that, are the rest of the knuckle geometry the same?

Hope you guys can help out here, any input is good.

Thank you!

I installed a set of (what I was told were EF9) spindals on my girls CRX. It was obvious they were heavily toed in than the stockers, but we were able to get it aligned with the stock tie rods.

Like I said, Im not sure they were EF9 but they were different than any USDM spindal Id seen before. They got really wide looking at them front to back on the car and vary narrow looking at them side to side on the car. Like they were designed for a wider tire.

Damn I just threw out a rhd SIR crossmember and Rack and pinion and it had the tie rods on still.

Let me see if I can dig it out.

I can confirm they are different. I've seen people adjust with OEM rods, but I wouldn't trust my life with modding them.

Thank you for the link. Yes, i'll just have to find the shorter tie rods off the EF9 or SIR.

Can someone confirm that its just the difference in length and nothing else? Is the steering rack mounted differerently or is it a completely different rack on the SIR? I dont see the reason why they would change the steering mount angle on the knuckles for no reason. Is it to gain more leverage for easier steering?

My cause of concern is that even if i fit the SIR shorter tie rod ends on, there is still an incompatibility with the ef7 steering rack. It might work, but just not what its designed to be.

They are just shorter. Apart from that they're the same.

Over the years I haven't found any place but the dealership that can get them.
(and they're pricey too)
